Who We Are We are stoked to take this time to announce the opening of our new grow facility in Michigan and to share more about our rootz. Strange Rootz is a home-grown operation made up of a group of marijuana lovers who believe in bettering our community one puff at a time. We pride ourselves on taking the badge of “locally owned” seriously, whether that is growing a product using the best technologies and highest quality standards or supporting social equity programs for those facing charges from outdated legislation, Strange Rootz keeps to their rootz. We have no corporate investors influencing our decisions, counting pennies or controlling our causes. From the rootz to the clouds, we are in this business to support the people and the plant. How We Do Things We understand that the foundation of our plants is essential to providing the cleanest and healthiest cannabis experience for our customers – that’s why we implement cultivation practices that promote a healthy and biodiverse ecosystem within the soil. Our rootz are firmly planted in the local soil, which is why we locally source the base layer of our soil from the Michigan-based Dairy Doo brand, specializing in organic compost that protects plants and amplifies the release of available nutrients. From there, we add our in-house special mixture of worms, earthworm castings, nematodes, and other plant-friendly bugs, as well as seaweed, peat, and organic compost. This all-natural combination creates a balanced environment that allows the plants to thrive naturally, without harmful chemicals or synthetic fertilizers.  What Makes Us Strange As true smokers, we love hugging trees as much as we love puffing on them, and our eco-friendly temperature-controlled grow houses prove it. We keep our plants happily hydrated with a filtered recycled water system that feeds into our above-ground soil beds in an indoor mixed-light space. This 10,000-square-foot space houses twelve ten-ton AC units that kick out the perfect temperature for our crop to thrive and features a reheat dehumidification system that eliminates the need for multiple energy-sucking dehumidifiers. By utilizing natural and sustainable inputs, the end product is top-notch cannabis that is as dank and aromatic as it is devoid of dangerous impurities from energy-wasting practices. We are committed to giving our customers a trustworthy, natural cannabis experience every time.
